very cheap, but work a treat.
no chance of damage in transit, with the amount of packaging.
excellent product, will buy again. |

| these were the cheapest CD's I could find, Which I paid slightly over £6 for! I just wanted them for burning 80 min audio CD's and they do the job so I'm happy. |
| The first bad thing I have ever bought from Amazon: Rating: 1/5 |
A bit of background - I have been burning CDs for years. Normally I buy Verbatim, Sony, TDK or Memorex, and I have never - EVER - had a failure. I decided to try these extra-value Amazon ones. They are very thin, semi-transparent, and smell of cheap sweets. Do they work? Well, no. About 1 in 4 writes successfully first time. 2 out of 4 write on the third or fourth attempt (the CD writer seems to time out on the other occasions). The remaining 1 out of 4 fails to write ever. Net result - it takes a LOT longer to write CDs.
Anything else? Well, the ones that write successfully somehow confuse my writing software (I use Burrrn). The progress bar reports that the CD writing has finished when it's actually about 70% through, and the final tracks are written (successfully) after that. So something about these CDs is odd.
These are cheap, but for me, the extra hassle just isn't worth it! |
| Does the job well: Rating: 4/5 |
I have gone through about 15 of these discs now (all for music) and have not had a problem with any not recording data properly or not being able to play in a CD player. It's has been a long long time since I have had issues with blank CDs that don't record properly, so I didn't expect anything less from the Amazon Basics discs. Nonetheless they have so far performed well.
My only concern is that they don't appear to be particularly strong or durable. This hasn't been a problem for me as the final CDs are kept in the house and not moved around much, but I would be wary if they were kept in a bag, transported or used often.
Even so, they are holding up so far, so no complaints from me.
