| If you are planning to use this dvd player for use with dvd discs burned from a p.c then i would not recommend, As i constantly had unsupported file type in dvd root menu on player, Very frustrating, as i wasted approx 15-20 dvd+r's by trying different burn methods, but still this player refused to recognise img & iso file type!........only had product for 1 week, probably was a defective dvd player, but i will not buy another toshiba. |

I had no problem switching this to be region-free using the code you'll find in other reviews. My gripes are:
(1) it is mechanically very noisy when loading, unloading, searching etc, although while actually playing it is quiet.
(2) there is no time display; it tells you what track you are on but not the H:M:S.
(3) the DVD tray does not have 'scooped in' sides. This means you have to lift the DVD out using the hole in the middle as you cannot grasp it from edge to edge.
(4) sometimes I got a hint of jerky motion in the image. This is a big problem with the "upscaling" version of this player (which I had fro a time), so perhaps I was being hypersensitive.
(5) You have to switch it on. Pressing 'open' does not switch on the machine, you have to press 'on' then 'open'. It might be a small niggle but you'd think they would arrange that any button press would start the machine.
Overall, OK at the price and it does play any region once you have set it. |

| This DVD player is simple to set-up and use and is stunning value for money for a quality product. My only reservation which stops me from giving 5-stars is that the remote control buttons are tiny and a bit fiddly to use for my 89yr old Dad! |

| Excellent machine and at a great price. You need to buy a scart connection as this is not included. The quality of the DVD's played through the television is excellent considering the price. I bought this for my mother-in- law for Xmas, and she is over the moon with it. The only downside is that the buttons on the machine and the remote are small for the older person with "thicker fingers" and weaker eyes, but this is a minor issue.
