A Sony Blu-Ray for a hundred quid - almost no drawbacks!: Rating: 4/5
I decided to go for a cheap Blu-Ray player because, despite having a full HD panel, I wasn't interested in fancy toys or connectivity; an HDMI was all I needed, so I went for the S360, and the positives so outweigh the negatives that this thing should cost 50% more than it does.

Connectivity is excellent, with HDMI, ananlog component, optical and electrical digital audios and, for some reason, composite + stereo outputs. There's also an Ethernet port for firmware/profile updates, so there's no danger of this player being made redundant when the next BR standard comes along. Picture is absolutely glorious, and the player is stuffed to the gills with tweaking options (but it's good enough for me out of the box). Sound is not much of an issue for me, as I use the panel speakers, but I can't complain. The wonderful Xrossbar interface is here strutting its stuff, and it's virtually no effort to navigate to any option you care to play with.

Now to the reason I only gave it four stars: responsiveness. Slow operation times are currently the bane of the BR world, and this player does not escape. Loading times are fine for me, as I leave it on "active standby", but the trick-play functions (fast forward/rewind, advance/retard, and sometimes chapter seeks) are ponderously slow - I often seek forwards to find the sound continuing over a still picture, which takes several seconds to catch up.

This is a miniscule fly in a gargantuan tub of ointment, though, and I can easily forgive this shortcoming given the price and quality. I have seen no better "entry level" BR player from a big brand, so if you are concerned only with watching BR films, and not investing in the core of an ultra high-end home cinema system, the S360 is most definitely worth a punt.
Greta value from the home of Blue Ray: Rating: 4/5
I bought this Sony BDPS360 Blu-Ray player after seeing the price yo-yo for about a month (finally purchased for £79.99 from Amazon in January) and delivered within a week. It's had great reviews in What Hi-Fi & Video (5*) and I have not been disappointed. Make sure you buy a decent HDMI cable as this is not supplied by Sony. The player was very easy to set up and install, it is very intuitive and I haven't needed to use the manual at all (if one was even supplied). Great picture (a vast improvement over my previous Sony DVD player) - the difference a HD picture makes is well worth investing in. Can be linked to the internet via an ethernet cable (no wi-fi) but I haven't bothered using this function yet. My advice is to check prices regularly as they go up and down almost daily.
An excellent player - and multiregion (for DVD) to boot: Rating: 5/5
I will not add much to what has already been said: everyone is right, this is a really excllent player. It is worth noting though that whilst not advertised on the site, it is multiregion for DVD; or the one I recieved was at any rate, upscaling Region 1 and 2 DVD's beautifully. Perhaps I was just very lucky or perhaps these players all come as Multiregion from Amazon? I'm sure future buyers would find it helpful if the description said so. I for one considered other players, and may well have gone for a different one, simply because others were advertised as multiregion. Had I known I would not have prevaricated; I would have bought one of these immediately.

My advice - get one. Fantastic item.
Great Budget Player: Rating: 5/5
Fantastic player for the price , when it comes to the Picture Quality its on par with the PS3 and all the other players out there at this price , Its a nice size and is very light weight.
Its very quite compared to the ps3 and does a good job of upscaling dvds. This player does all the things you would expect and more at this price, very happy indeed now i can use my ps3 just for gaming
Fantastic Sony Blu-Ray player: Rating: 5/5
Just purchased the Sony BDPS360 as our first Blu-Ray player. Works well, with excellent picture detail on our 32" Sony Bravia TV. Great value for money - why would you need to pay more?
